One of the most severe types of acne involve deep sebaceous gland blockages beneath the skin surface. These blockages can appear on the back, upper chest, or face and resemble sizable bumps. What is interesting, perhaps, is that dead skin cells are part of the reason for the blockages to form. A common way to get rid of the dead skin cells that can cause this problem is to have your skin exfoliated. But, it’s not guaranteed that this will help your problem. Some families might be genetically predisposed to have acne, just as with any other health problem. Some family members might be afflicted and others might not. As a rule, if acne doesn’t run in your family, but you have it anyway, you could probably benefit by exfoliation. Nonetheless, you can be bad for your skin if you exfoliate over and over.

Though understandable, a large misunderstanding exists in regard to how to properly care for your skin. If you have greasy skin, you’ll want to keep the amount of oil down on your face and skin. Most people make a drastic mistake at this point trying to keep their face too dry. Too much washing can lead to the removal of all of the oil from your face which can be disastrous.

If you have excessively dried your skin, your pores will replenish the oil that is missing. As you will see, excessive drying will produce excessive amounts of oil. Your skin will actually suffer by doing this, and you will not make any progress at all toward having a clear face.

A scar is basically a location in which there is an excess in collagen and it produces the scar. Most people do not want to have these types of scars. Depending upon the size of the scar, you may be very concerned or not concerned at all.

If you suffered from acne, and you popped the pimples on your face, you may have developed acne scars as well. If you have a zit or blemish on your face, it is best to never squeeze it. However, we do know you want it gone and cannot wait another hour. You should actually never squeeze your pimple until you can see that it will pop easily, or else you may spread the infection in your skin.

The general reason as to why acne forms is because the passageways in the follicles are blocked. How bad the blockage actually is will determine the type of conditions you experience. Both increased amounts of sebum being excreted and dead skin cells contribute to the blockages. Additionally, if a comedone or a blackhead is produced it is named an open comedone. There is, however, a condition where a comedone can be closed, beneath the skins surface.

If all else fails, go to your local dermatologist to seek out professional help. Doing so will ensure that you get the best information about your skin condition and what you can do about it. To get your acne handled, they may prescribe certain medications to help with your skin disorder.
